With Artisan, you can create campaigns where Ava, your AI outbound sales agent, researches leads, personalizes every outreach message, follows up with them automatically, and books meetings for you.
To create and launch a campaign in Artisan, you’ll need
  • A connected primary mailbox. Learn more about connecting your mailbox.
  • A sender with a signature and meeting booking link
  • Credits on your account
Secondary mailboxes take about two weeks to warm up before they can send email. If you plan to use one, set it up before you launch your campaign.

Campaigns

Campaigns
In Artisan, a campaign is how you gather leads and run outreach to them. You can create as many campaigns as you want, and each one has its own type, audience, and settings. There are five campaign types:
  • Cold outbound: reach people you’ve never contacted before. Learn more about campaigns.
  • Warm outbound: reach leads already in your CRM.
  • Cross-sell/upsell: reach your existing customer base.
  • Website visitor: identify who’s visiting your website and start outreach to them.
  • Intent signals: find new leads who are showing signs they’re ready to buy.

Data sources

Quickstart Datasources
A data source is where a campaign’s leads come from. You pick one when you set up the campaign, and Ava works through the leads it supplies. Some sources pull new leads from Artisan’s own databases; others let you bring your own, from a CRM, a CSV, or a webhook. Available sources depend on the campaign type:
  • Find B2B contacts: search Artisan’s database of 250M+ professionals
  • Find local businesses: search Artisan’s database of 200M+ Google Maps businesses
  • Choose existing lists: pick from a list you’ve previously created in Artisan
  • Import CRM list: import a list or filter contacts from your CRM
  • Upload a CSV: import your own leads from a spreadsheet file
  • Import from webhook: import by posting data to a provided webhook URL
Cross-sell and upsell campaigns don’t allow Artisan’s B2B database or local data as sources.

Sequence

Quickstart Sequence
A sequence is the series of steps Ava runs for each lead, in the order you set: for example, an email, then a follow-up a few days later. It’s how one lead moves through your outreach over time. You can start from a template created by Artisan, or you can build a sequence from scratch. Learn more about Sequence.

Messaging

Quickstart Messaging
Messaging is where you set up what Ava says and how she says it: your context and proof points, plus rules for tone, personalization, and the call to action. She drafts each message from what you give her, picking the most relevant angle for each prospect. Learn more about messaging.

Settings

Quickstart Settings
The Settings tab is where you configure how your campaign runs: who sends the messages, how many people Ava contacts, when messages go out, and who to exclude. Default settings work for most campaigns, so on your first launch, you only need to check a few, such as:
  • Require approval before sending
  • Autopilot replies
  • Senders
  • How many leads to contact each day
  • Recycle leads who don’t respond
  • Sending window

Launch your campaign

After you set up everything and review, launch the campaign. Ava starts enrolling leads and preparing messages, which usually takes up to 10 minutes. From there, you can track progress on the campaign’s Leads tab and review or monitor messages on the Tasks page. Learn more about what happens after you launch a campaign.

Credits and enrollment

Leads are enrolled into a campaign a few at a time, not all at once. You’re only charged for the leads enrolled so far, not the whole list up front, so editing mid-campaign won’t waste credits on leads that haven’t started yet. Credits are charged per lead when the lead is enrolled, not as each step runs. Before you launch, the settings page shows your maximum 30-day credit cost and your estimated runway. You’re all set to launch your first campaign with Ava!
