Use CRM lists as a data source
Use CRM lists when you already have contacts or companies in HubSpot or Salesforce and want to use them in Artisan. After your CRM is connected, you can import CRM lists into Artisan and use them to:- Add CRM contacts to campaigns
- Find people at companies from your CRM
- Save CRM data as Artisan lists
- Enrich CRM records before using them in outreach
- Run cold outbound, warm outbound, cross-sell, or upsell campaigns
What CRM data can I import?
The CRM data you can import depends on which CRM you have connected.HubSpot
From HubSpot, you can import:- Contact lists: lists of people you can add to campaigns.
- Company lists: lists of accounts you can use to find people before adding them to campaigns.
Salesforce
From Salesforce, you can import:- Contact or Lead views: lists of people you can add to campaigns.
- Account or Company views: lists of companies you can use to find people before adding them to campaigns.
Static and dynamic CRM lists
Artisan can use both static and dynamic CRM lists.- Static lists are manually maintained in your CRM.
- Dynamic lists update automatically based on CRM rules or filters.
Option 1: Add CRM contacts to a campaign
Use this when your CRM list contains people you want Ava to contact.
Examples:
- Cold contacts your team already has in HubSpot or Salesforce
- Warm contacts who have engaged with your company before
- Customers eligible for cross-sell or upsell
- Event attendees
- Contacts owned by a specific rep or territory
- Open the campaign in Artisan.
- Choose Import CRM list.
- Select the CRM list you want to use.
- Email address
- First name
Option 2: Use CRM companies lists to find people
Use this when your CRM list contains companies or accounts, not individual people. Company lists cannot be sequenced directly because Ava needs people to contact. To use a CRM company list:- Import the company or account list from your CRM.
- Save it as an Artisan list.
- Go to Find leads.
- Use the company list as your target account list.
- Add people filters such as job title, seniority, department, or location.
- Save the matching people to a list or add them to a campaign.
Option 3: Save CRM lists and enrich them
You can also save CRM lists as Artisan lists before using them in a campaign. This is useful when you want to:- Review the records before outreach
- Enrich missing data
- Segment the list further
- Use the list later in multiple campaigns
How CRM list syncing works
After a CRM list is imported, Artisan continues checking for updates. If records are added to the CRM list later, Artisan can sync those changes into the connected Artisan list. This applies to both static lists and dynamic lists. This means your Artisan list can stay aligned with the source list in your CRM without manual re-uploading.Best practices
- Use contact lists when you already know the people Ava should contact.
- Use company or account lists when you know the target accounts but still need to find people.
- Use dynamic CRM lists when the audience changes often.
- Make sure contact lists include email address and first name whenever possible.
- Use company lists with Find leads to build persona-specific audiences at target accounts.
- Review imported lists before launching high-volume campaigns.
